With the Z you're gonna have to spend alot on labor because of the tight space in the engine bay(hard to work on). With the VR-4, the tranny is shit nice choices though. Or you can always buy one of these

The problem with buying a new car is that as soon as you drive it off the lot its worth about $5k less. In a year how much will the RSX be worth? I'm going on three years, if I try to sell my car I can sell it for more than I bought it and sell the upgrades separately.

True. As long as you keep up with maintence(oil chnage,tune up,tires,ect.) you'll be fine. The most major thing I had to get was a new battery. My car has 100k miles on it already and drives just as good as when I bought it 3 yrs ago(with 80K miles).

I used to own a 3000gt before so I speak from experience...that car was freaking awesome...get the VR4 and you'll be sailing...and mitsubishi's are renowned for their customizable options...but the nissan 300zx is kind of ugly and the body kits are even uglier..at their peak they both come with twin turbo engines so it comes down to looks and if you're buying a car based on looks as well as performace...go with the mitsubishi!

I think the price tag is around 18,000-24,000 for a used vr4 edition of the 3000gt and in terms of horses i think it pushes around 385 not too sure though look it up...I had the gt version!

It's underrated. I think it looks hella sexy. Good performance. Problem is it a bit "fat". It's too heavy. It's very sleek though.
