there will never be another Jordan because Jordan was way more then basketball...he was and is just an ICON...but in terms of basketball the closest thing to him is Dwayne Wade...he didnt need Shaq to get to the playoffs (he did it last year too) LeBron is good, but Dwayne Wade is on a whole other level...even when they play eachother Dwayne always comes out on top...

People who compare Lebron James to Jordan are casual fans who don't know what they are talking about.

Lebron James will never be the next michael jordan. There will never be another Jordan but it is pretty dam stupid to think that there will never be anyone else as good as Jordan. I mean c'mon how many peopel said that about Karrem , Magic, LArry bird n chamberlain? And then came Jordan!!! Eventually someone will be equall to Jordan if not surpass him as the best player ever. Not sure when but IT WILL HAPPEN !!!!! PEoplE dont be blind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There wont be another MJ for a very long time IMO. To say there never will be is pushing it though b/c no one ever imagined a player like Jordan to come along b4 he entered the draft. To say there never will be another Wilt Chamberlain sounds more reasonable. Wilt the Stilt avg'd above 30 pts for his first 9 seasons, even avging 50 pts/game and 45. He also averaged 23 rebounds a game for his carrer. That is unthinkable in todays NBA. There will be another dominant sg b4 there is another center. I will admit though Lebron has a better chance to dominate than Kobe. I say stop comparing people to the greats and let them make a name for themselves. MJ will always be my fav player but right now T-Mac just makes it look so easy the way he plays. Go ROCKETS!

But could Wilt Chamberlain put up those numbers against players like Shaq, Yao, Garnett, etc... the quality and level of competition of the game is much higher then it was back in the day when Chaimberlain walked the floor.

you're twisting the facts,
their era included these Hall of Fame Centers---Wilt, Russell, Thurmond, Willis Reed. Also it marked the beginning of other HOF like Jabbar, Lanier, Hayes, Unseld. That's quite a competive group of centers, not to mention the other positions---like cousey, West, Baylor, Robertson, Barry, Havlicek, etc. All these HoF for a league w < 20 teams
It is unfair i guess to compare players of different eras in some way. The rules have changed so much because of players that dominate. They widened the lanes and created goaltending to stop Wilt. He was one of the most incredible physical specimens in sports history. Do i think he could post same numbers in todays NBA? No. He once scored 60 points in 10 minutes in high school, everything he did is just outrageous in to think of it in todays NBA. But, i do believe he would be the best center in todays NBA, his competition=Shaq and Yao. He would ball them up
