So..I guess I'm just asking for some advice...

Do you think it is possible for jail to change somebody, and if it is..is it a good idea to be with them?

And once they seem to have changed..will that last or will they eventually go back to their old ways?

jail doesnt change a person. only a person can change themselves. my uncle was in jail for 9 nines got out and now hes right back in. so only you can change yourself not just some jail cell.

That makes sense.

My ex just got out of jail..he claims he's a new person...and he seems to have tamed out a little bit..and he didn't do anything that he used to..and wasn't mad at me for pressing charges..

I'm just not 100% sure that he is for real.

I dont think Jail changes anyone to much.. if it did they wouldnt go back in for the same things over and over again.. now if they in there for years maybe it will calm em down.. but they'll probably still do it but be more careful not to get caught.... Now i would still mess with someone who has been in jail just depends on what he was in there for..

My cousins have been in and out since their twentys. They spent most their lives up north. I myself didnt think jail was a big deal. I did some skid bids(i.e. 7-30 days). Then I got cought on some real felony sht. I did 6months in county and 8 months upstate in a behavior modifacation program. It turned me around. Even though I got arrested in January it was for some stupid sht but for the most part I've been doing the right thing. So, I guess it's up to the individual. Some learn from their mistakes... some dont.

Hmm .. it depends on the person. Jail sometimes changes people.. but mainly because they have alot of time to reflect on the good/bad and they also have special programs to help them better themselves and become a productive member of society. ; ] BUTTTT what generally happens is that once they step out, at that instant, they are the "changed" person, but when they hook up with their old friends and are dragged back into their old lifestyle, they end up doing the same ish they did before they got locked up. So I agree with what the previous person said.. it depends on his mentality, will, and desire to change in order to remain as a changed person. :)

it could change them in good and bad ways.
it depends what happens to them in prison.

i guess its okay to be with them, you could help them and make sure they dont change back to the self that led them to being in prison in the first place.

they will most likely revert back to their old ways if they are in the same environment, with the same people, etc. who may have been bad influences.

Jail is a great place to catch and STD and then pass it on to some Latina whore when you get out!

Congratulations on being related to so many losers and fucktards.

Do us all a favor and shoot your cousins' in the head with a shotgun so we as a society don't have put up with their stupidity!

One of my cuzos did a bullet for a gun charge. He still does dirt but hes low key now and doesnt get caught up on beef shit. Hes just on a paper chase.

And my homie Did 13 yrs in State Prison for assault, He changed his life around. Went from flippin bricks to working in a bakery.

Some other dudes I know dont care.Probably makes a little meaner.

it changes some people.

my dad was locked up for 3 years and then another 9 years and he didnt change at all. he still did drugs and he got sent back because of violation of probation. he's in for another 10 years. so i guessit didnt change him any.

^^^^ I agree, it depends on the person. I had a female friend that was in jail for 7 years fed time. She was happy to be free, but being a felon made it impossible for her to change. She was so comfortable not having to pay rent, she was able to eat three meals a day, and not worry about the world around her. She told me she missed being there, and it wasn't that bad.

Now that's some sad shit.

I know, I loss contact with her when I left for Korea. That's really ill when someone can sit there and tell you they miss being in jail, What's really sad is she is not the first to feel that way. Some people have been in jail so long they are condition to be in that system, they wouldn't know how or even try to survive out side the walls.
