Nah, I don't think so. Maybe before the 19th century. But now most Chinese people are farmers and most Japanese people are business men. I have a lot of Chinese associates and from what they tell me not many of them practice it these days. But then again, Asians make up most of the world so there are a lot of them who do it, just not a lot out of their population.
