The short answer is no. Why?
1. You're body already produces creatine. It is synthesized by arginine, glycine, and methionine 2. The kidney's will work to maintain normal CK (creatine phosphate) blood levels, excess creatine is excreted through the urine as "Creatinine". 3. To benefit from creatine supplementation you must first be deficient in it. The average person produces enough creatine to do vigorous weight training without being deficient. A vegetarian might consider creatine supplementation, but before anyone goes spending $20, $30, $40 for the latest "proprietary" supplement to hit the market you should have your blood levels checked to see if you are on the low end of the normal range. I will update this thread with expert advice from a doctor later on. |

The world of nutrition and supplementation is full of misinformation, conflicting information and constantly changing information.
Any methods which do actually work eg AAS have been banned by the FDA. Creatine is worthless, and like all dietary supplements is just a snake oil scam designed to part you from your hard earned money. Creatine gives you a 1-2 second boost in endurance activities. Although it is hyped as a weight lifitng supplement it is essentially useless. Any 'gains' that anyone sees from taking CM is nothing but fluid retention. Not lean gains. Problem with most people who lift is that they're always looking for shortcuts by using supplements etc, when really there is no substitute for hard work, good food, Supplement companies use anecdotal evidence to support and hype up their supps. There are loopholes in the law which allow them to do so, but many of their claims are just bordering on misrepresentation. I know their marketing pitches are enticing, but marketers know how to use the buzzwords, that's their job. They made products like CEE sound too good to be true, but they really are! Don't fall for it. Last edited by Dopetastic : 06-21-2009 at 08:56 AM. |

creatine allows you to get a few more reps in. you don't get fatigued as easily. it isn't a HUGE difference, but if you're training hard, it'll give you a small edge.
