well I train at the boxing gym and we use the bag I have never used a slam man

the bag builds strength in your arms and they also have me use the small ball for hand eye coordination

if there is one close by id highly recommend going there than buying a bunch of stuff youd be intrigued with for a while before throwing it in storage.


but id say a bag is better ...get a light bag..about 80lbs they are prettu cheap at walmart.

as far as hands are concerned..since ur starting out...use good mexican wraps and roll em extra thick on the wrist and the thumb. (trust me i have paid with pain).

also ...if you ever get serious about it....get running 4-5 miles in the morning

im building my gym in my small ass apartment

got free weights


the bean for resistance training and crunches


the gazelle for cardio n such


wave master for more cardio n just release some stress

all for about $90 :yay:

the heavy bag is not gonna do much for u unless u know how to hit it and what to do with it, and starting off by urself will not be the way, for this u'll need to join a boxing facility.
U will give up before ur body even starts to take in the work out of the heavy bag.
